Our flowers are all grown sustainably on our farm and dried naturally.

We never uses dyes or bleach when drying our flowers. But, we are still able to produce beautiful, colorful dried flowers.

This is because we--

  • carefully select seed varieties to grow specifically for drying;

  • grow these varieties in our sustainably maintained, high-quality soil; and

  • harvest the resulting blooms at their peak before immediately starting our natural drying process.

We dry all of our flowers by hanging them in various ways to slowly dry. This process occurs in our "flower room" -- the original kitchen in our historic farm house that is now packed with drying flowers!

The only additive we use is with our eucalyptus. We have found that the only way to retain the beautiful color of eucalyptus and keep it from becoming brittle is to soak it in a glycerin and water solution. Glycerin is non-toxic though and is actually often used as a skin moisturizer! So you can be confident that our dried eucalyptus won't be introducing any chemicals into your home!

In our experience, people expect dried flowers to cost less than fresh flowers. But we encourage you to think about just how much extra time and labor is required to naturally transform our beautiful , sustainably grown blooms into a product that you can safely enjoy for months, or even years.

The reality is that dried flower do cost more than fresh flowers. But we are committed to keeping our dried flower prices as low as possible in support of our commitment to encouraging our community to buy locally grown, rather than imported flowers -- even during the cold months.

There are loads of vendors now selling dried flowers and marketing them as a "sustainable option", especially online.

But, if you look closely, you’ll find that often these dried flowers are actually far from environmentally friendly.
