Sprinkles make everything more fun
…especially when they are made from flowers!
-
We’re glad you asked! Edible flower sprinkles are colorful petals from edible flowers that we grow on the farm! They can use used to decorate cookies, cakes, and anything else you are cooking!
They are very popular with kids!
-
Simply bake or cook your creation as you normally would, then after it comes out of the oven and is cool, add your edible flower sprinkles!
If your creation isn’t sticky enough to hold the sprinkles once cool, just paint on little sugar syrup before you sprinkle!
We get the best results when we take a large pinch of sprinkles between our fingers, hold them about 18 inches above your creation and gently sprinkle them all around. Holding them up high helps them disburse perfectly!
—————
*Adding your sprinkles before cooking will usually result in wilted or burned sprinkles - these are flower petals after all!
-
We collect petals from the edible flowers we grow on the farm all summer long using sustainable practices, then we dehydrate in our oven them and put them in a jar for you to enjoy.
It’s as simple as that - but it takes a lot of time!
-
Nope! You can read more about our flower growing practices by clicking on the let’s learn tab above.
It is important to be sure flowers are not treated with pesticides before you eat them because most flowers are imported and flowers are not subject to the same sort of regulation as fruits and vegetables.
-
The types of flowers in the sprinkles vary every year we produce them based on what grew well that season.
Our sprinkles from 2023 for example contained mix of petals from Bachlor’s Buttons, Bee Balm, Calendula, Echinacea, Coreopsis, Dahlia, Daisy, Rose, and Sun Drop flowers.
-
Our sprinkles are currently in stock at Charlotte Julienne in Victor, NY we can also arrange for pickup on our farm stand in Canandaigua. Each jar is $15.
